"Teaching corridors"

At the beginning of our collaboration with the schools of Palermo and Murcia, we all agreed that the common areas of the schools, such as the corridors, are usually colorless and do not attract the interest of the children.  However, they can be used to take the "lesson" concept beyond the narrow confines of the classroom and turn them into engaging learning spaces.

Thus, we decided to organize a joint e-twinning project entitled "Teaching Corridors".

The project was designed in stages, based on the Blended learning method.

 a) The children were tasked with finding and selecting prominent personalities from the three participating countries.

 b) The students wrote short biographies and found accompanying portraits.

 c) The students posted the results on the project's page, on the e-twinning platform.

 d) Then, they placed the personalities in chronological order on a Padlet (timeline).

 e) Finally, each school undertook to present this  timeline, in any way it wishes, in a corridor or other common area.

Our own school chose the hallway outside the Science lab for placement.  The Visual Arts team undertook the transfer of the work of the E-twinning team on the wall, using the pasting technique.

On a background made from pages of old encyclopedias, the portraits of the personalities were placed, in their chronological order.

QR codes were also created, and were placed next to each person's portrait, leading to a link of the according biography.

This project, as decided by the participating members of the group, will be enriched in the future with other important personalities, so that the students of our school can have an interdisciplinary, visual aid for a better understanding and connection of the subjects taught in their classes (history, languages, natural sciences, visual arts, literature, music, etc.).
