About the project

A program to improve the school environment and cultivate an environmentally sustainable lifestyle through the development, implementation and dissemination of good practices.

We aim to make the school community aware of the necessity for its activity, in order to improve its quality of life starting from the school area, with sustainable interventions within it. For example by creating spaces for rest, expression and learning at school with a minimal ecological footprint, by and for the students. We seek the awakening of our environmental consciousness in general and the cultivation of an environmentally sustainable lifestyle, through alternative approaches such as e.g. - the operation of the exchange network of objects in the school. - the reduction of waste consumption and production (eg single-use items) as well as - the development, implementation and dissemination of new good practices. Particular importance is given to passing on these practices (with the help of the students) to the next generations.

 

An important challenge is the European cooperation dimension of the program. This implies an enrichment of the knowledge and ideas of the program and at the same time means a series of other challenges, which in turn require the development of skills, equally essential for the educational and cognitive development of the participants, such as for example: - Familiarity with the use of digital tools and applications (eg zoom, webex, padlet, e-class) as search tools, means of communication, etc. - Familiarity with cooperation, responsibility and coordination procedures. - Use and improvement of language skills, necessary in a multicultural reality (e.g. searching for information on foreign language websites, communicating with partner schools, creating presentations, etc.).
