Group Mobility in Murcia

Students and teachers of the 62nd High School of Athens had an unforgettable experience during our visit to Murcia, Spain in early March in the framework of the Erasmus+ program. We filled our suitcases with enthusiasm, expectations and good mood and returned rich in experiences, images, knowledge and useful practices.

The school I.E.S. Nuestra Senora de Fuensanta Jesus Maria of Murcia, with which we collaborate within the framework of the program, and the families that hosted the students, welcomed us very warmly and had organized for us a multifaceted program with activities, workshops, excursions and events with gastronomic surprises. During the project we met and worked with delegations from our other partner schools from Italy and Latvia. Excited Angeliki, a student of the C Gymnasium, mentions "The people who hosted me were very friendly, they had fun and had me as their child, Their school was huge, very beautiful and tidy. The workshops with students from other countries were incredibly interesting!"

During our stay in Murcia, we dealt with issues related to the environment and the climate crisis, ways of dealing with it and the importance of the role of active citizenship. The principles of inclusion and strengthening students' social skills characterized all activities and workshops. In the context of the exchange of good practices, alternative teaching approaches were of particular interest, such as Bound Action, educational visit-discussion with a representative of the Municipality on current issues of environmental and social content, critical thinking workshop and search for solutions, "Fun Breaks", etc.

During this multicultural "festival", students from the 4 countries had the opportunity to collaborate, exchange views and experiences, joke and have fun with their peers from other European countries, in other words to become shareholders of the concept of European citizenship.
