Key Facts about the School

Informally called “Kalna skola” (School on the Hill), as the building is situated on the highest hill in the town

Often referred to as  “Mother of Schools” - established in 1919, it is the oldest of all local schools

The school provides education to 1, 250 students aged 7 to 19

There are around 110 teachers (both full and part time)

The size of the class does not exceed 22 (in grades 1 to 3) and 26 (in grades 4 to 12) students per class

The school offers support to children with special needs

Non-selective school in grades 1 to 9, with selective education opportunities in grades 10 to 12  

School Premises

Four joint buildings (including a sports hall)

Grades 1 to 3 are located in a separate building to ensure safety

The school premises are fully exploited
